9 Video Games Coming In 2018 You've Already Forgotten About
5. State Of Decay 2
Despite age-old adages claiming otherwise, you very well can have too much of a good thing.
State of Decay 2's predecessor, a sleeper hit for the Xbox 360, burst onto the scene amidst the height of zombie-slaying fever (CoD Zombies, Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising, etc.) to offer an open world alternative with RPG elements, but that was over half a decade ago - times have changed.
Fast forward to the present day, where the sub-genre is anything but underrepresented (Sony's bigger budget alternative, Days Gone, arrives next year too, itself having so far failed to spur interest) and it comes as no surprise that Undead Labs' sequel is sinking ever further down the list of 2018's most anticipated releases.
We know, of course, that it'll feature the co-op multiplayer mode so sorely missing from the original, but it remains to be seen if that's a strong enough incentive to pull lapsed zombie hunters back into the fold.
If Microsoft wants to ensure its 2018 gets off to a good start, reminding everyone that killing flesh-starved corpses with others is still good fun wouldn't be a bad start. Seriously, where's the publicity?
