4. Super Meat Boy Forever
Super Meat Boy Forever isn't receiving the level of attention one would expect for a sequel. The original, renowned for its soul-destroying difficulty, pixel-perfect art style and taut controls, continues to be a mark of excellence and inspiration for indie devs across the globe, so what gives, where's the love for Meat Boy, Bandage Girl and their adorable son, Nugget?
In its current form, Forever's a dedicated sequel to the original, but it began life as an auto-running, mobile-only title. Targeted audiences have expanded to consoles since, but the mechanical adjustment remains. A potential turn-off for purists who prefer manual inputs, perhaps?
A handful of other developments - McMillen's departure from Team Meat and the obvious change in artistic tone - could be other contributors to the relative disinterest Forever's experiencing and it'll be a shame if Forever comes and goes without fanfare because of them.
