9 Video Games That Almost Took GTA's Crown

The concept of inFamous was long-overdue when it launched: an open-world crime game where your character just happens to have super-powers. From the opening moments as you get Cole to absorb electricity from nearby rails and street lights, it was impossible not to be hooked and the experience was almost unprecedented. The game also addressed how you would use your powers for real with the €œkarma meter€ deciding whether you€™re a hero or a monster and adding morality depth. GTA can play with morals now and then but for the most part, you're locked to one path; here, you see true consequences of your actions and decisions and that going wild with too much mayhem can be a bad thing for your character. It helps that the story itself is well done as you get into Cole€™s journey, his battles and all leading to that wild final plot twist that makes replaying a must to see how it unfolds.
