9 Video Games That Let You Hilariously Troll Other Players

3. Splinters Cell: Chaos Theory's Spies Vs. Mercs

The best thing about Chaos Theory's two-on-two Spies vs. Mercs multiplayer mode was just how hardcore it was. There was no handholding to be found and no hints to help you out, meaning that good players with a full knowledge of the maps could run rings around helpless newcomers.

To come out of the other side on top, perks that are useless now like being able to listen in on enemy chatter were essential when it was a small team only talking tactics, and using this leaked information to set traps and plan ambushes meant you could use another player's own plans against them.

Likewise, distractions were always popular for getting the drop on enemies, and a lot of the time one spy would end up offering themselves as bait while the other member of the team would wait in the shadows to pounce on the merc in pursuit, making the beaten player feel like a sucker for walking straight into an obvious trap.

Because spies didn't have any real offensive capabilities, they relied on trolling and mind games to win matches, and it's a shame that there's no real equivalent of this asymetrical multiplayer set up to be found today.
