9 Video Games That Will Leave You A Changed Person

5. The Last Of Us

We've talked a lot on WhatCulture about how significant a game The Last Of Us is and we're not about to stop. It's been by and large considered to be THE game of the last generation and in a lot of cases, it has been considered the best game ever to a lot of people in the wider gaming community.

What is so important about TLOU is the sheer power of its plotline combined with the wonderful performances by Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson as Joel and Ellie. In this key relationship, writing, direction, acting, and technology come together in the most perfect of harmonies and you actually begin to care about the characters in a significant way. If you didn't yelp in pain when Joel got injured or burst into tears when he saved Ellie from the cannibalistic David, you're dead inside.

What is most powerful, however, is the ending. If you haven't seen it, we won't spoil it in text, but let's just say it left PewDiePie speechless. It left him speechless. It left the motor mouth Swedish Youtuber speechless. THAT is how powerful TLOU is, and if you haven't played the game, go to a mirror, have a word with yourself then go and pre-order the PS4 remaster of it immediately. If you don't have a PS4, then buy one, because it's entirely worth it.

I am a man of many interests. I am a passionate gamer, running my own YouTube channel (The Gadget Addicts) showing off the best of modern gaming in the form of Let's Play videos. I am an ardent musician, having been a guitarist for the past 13 years. I am also a massive geek, I adore science fiction and fantasy films and TV shows and am trying to work up the courage to start writing a novel. If I can ever think of a good story to tell... I live with my wife in the North East of England and own a belligerent little black cat.
