Alan Wake 10 Years Later: 10 Moments Worth Revisiting Bright Falls For

While fans still haven’t got the sequel they’ve been waiting for all these years later, stand alone game American Nightmare and two DLC episodes for the main game have nevertheless built upon Alan’s story in interesting ways as well as giving us plenty more unforgettable moments along the way.

One of the most striking sequences came in the first expansion (The Signal), in which Alan, still trapped in the Dark Place, must make his way through a fragmented Bright Falls to reach a signal being broadcasted by Thomas Zane (a former victim of the Dark Place who guided you through the main game). On your way, you’ll have to navigate a creepy, enemy-infested basement, but thanks to a new mechanic whereby focusing your flashlight on words makes them reality, you can use furnaces to your advantage. By focusing your light on the word “blast” in front of the many furnaces in the room, you can make easy work of the Taken in spectacular fashion.

Given just how many furnaces there are in close proximity and how little it takes to set one off, they can be just as much of a danger to you as the Taken.
