Arkham Origins: 6 Playable Characters Revealed so Far

2. Bane

Bane Leader of the other gang, Bane can be played as through the same method used to be The Joker, though you must obviously be on the opposite team. His play-style is extremely different from Joker€™s, focussing much more on close-range physical attacks rather than long-range firearms; saying that, he does have the use of a rocket launcher, which can be fired at enemies out of arm€™s reach to inflict devastating damage (though it does need time to recharge). Bane can stun enemies by punching the ground and creating a shockwave, giving you time to run up to them and throw them into a wall, killing them instantly. He also stands a better chance against the heroes than Joker does, able to use his now signature €˜break the bat€™ move on them if he sees them get too close (which they need to do if they want to take him down). Whether he€™ll make an appearance in the challenge maps in unknown, yet his lack of stealth abilities would make him useless in a Predator scenario and his physical prowess would mean he€™d be next to invincible in a combat match, so at this stage we think it€™s likely he€™ll be restricted exclusively to the multiplayer. Bane is a much milder version of himself than seen in the other Arkham games, looking more like a mercenary leader than a drug-addled human monstrosity. This again makes sense when thinking about the timeline, as the character would yet to have become consumed by his venom addiction, instead relying on natural strength with a small boost from the drug to pummel Batman into the ground. His redesign grants the opportunity for developers to present the character as something other than raw strength, giving him the strategic mind of a leader and thus making him a much more interesting character to watch and control. The new look also means he can fit through doorways, which is infinitely helpful.
