3. The Joker
Previously playable on the PS3 version of Arkham Asylum, The Joker is possibly the most loved DC villain of all time. In Arkham Origins hes the leader of one of the multiplayer gangs, as we mentioned earlier, so its necessary for a certain amount of time to pass before youre able to be him, at which time a sign appears and you have to get to it before someone else does. If someone on the enemy team gets to the marked door first then theyll have their leader come out instead, so you need to act quick if you dont want your enemies to get an advantage or for one of your teammates to have all the fun. While he cant use the detective mode skills that the goons (temporarily) can to see enemies through walls, when you get within a certain distance of a target an arrow appears above their head, allowing for easier tracking. Joker is essentially a walking arsenal, using a range of weapons adapted to kill singular or multiple enemies at once, each bullet far stronger than anything available for the lesser members of the gang. The only way you can really die is if you persistently encounter all three rival gang members at the same time or a sneaky hero/goon with a shotgun sneaks up on you, as they can take your health down pretty fast. Appearance-wise The Joker is pretty cool, wearing a trench coat with tails which flow behind him as he runs in a manner very reminiscent of Batmans cape. In terms of his facial/body features he has been designed extremely well, looking exactly how one would image Arkham Asylums Joker to look ten or twenty years in the past, with a more muscular body and smoother, less scarred face. Hes much more fun to play as than he was in Asylum, and after my first few turns controlling him in an online match I have to say its worth buying the game for the multiplayer alone.
