Assassin's Creed Origins: 11 Early Reactions You Need To Know

7. Bayek Is One Of The Best Main Characters In The Franchise

Although they struck gold by creating one of the best protagonists of the last generation in Ezio Auditore, every game since has suffered when it comes to crafting a compelling main character. Assassin's Creed III's Connor was the first big misstep, while Jacob and Evie Frye were the closest the series came to recapturing the magic of Ezio's winning personality.

However, if early impressions are to be believed, then Origins' main character Bayek is one of the better protagonists in the franchise. Boasting more personality and motivation than any of the heroes that preceded him, apparently the character's personal story is what keeps the game interesting in its later hours, and what ultimately props up the main narrative.

The main campaign has another run-of-the-mill AC story, but at least the protagonist headlining the game has enough heart and personality to carry the experience in the long run.
