Assassin’s Creed 3: 10 Reasons It’s Awesome

8. Tree Running

When I€™d read that AC III would overhaul the previous games€™ climbing mechanics and allow players to scale cliffs and trees, I€™ll admit to overlooking the detail as superficial. I mean, how much of an impact could the ability to scale nature have on the overall standard of the game? Well lots apparently; I€™m essentially forced to eat my words. You€™ll be amazed at how much depth this new Frontier based climbing mechanic has on the game, how much scope it adds to the overall single player experience. Last night, I must have spent a good hour and a half simply running through the trees, scaling cliff walls, hunting and generally taking in the immensely rendered landscape in all its glory. It really is quite a breath-taking, starkly beautiful setting and thanks to tree running, traversing it is an absolute pleasure.
