2. Cesare Borgia - Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

If you thought Assassin's Creed II's Rodrigo Borgia was bad, then wait until you meet his (illegitimate) son Cesare.

Sharing his father's massive ego but without his subtlety, the younger Borgia is more eccentric and over-the-top than his predecessor and was a lot more fun because of it.

Kicking events off Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood with a bang by invading the peaceful town of Monteriggioni where Ezio and his Assassins friends called home, killing Ezio's uncle, and stealing the Apple Of Eden for himself in the process. From herein, Ezio travels to Rome to once again take back the artefact and put an end to Cesare's power-hungry madness.

As Ezio gradually gains a foothold in Rome, Cesare's actions only got more extreme. Alongside crippling the city's Brotherhood, Cesare captures Caterina Sforza, kills his own father in a fit of rage (but only after he tried to poison him), and then there's the whole incest part of his life with his sister Lucrezia (although there's no direct historical evidence for this actually happening).

Perhaps best described as a spoiled brat with too much power, sending Cesare to his death was a moment that players couldn't wait for, and it didn't disappoint either.
