Responsible for the deaths of Ezio's father and brothers, Rodrigo Borgia is the main antagonist in Assassin's Creed II and the main target of Ezio's quest to avenge his family.

The Templar Grand Master in Renaissance Italy, Rodrigo was born in Spain and, with his uncle being Pope Callistus III, began to work his way up the ranks of the Catholic Church, eventually being elected Pope Alexander VI in 1492. Always one step ahead of Ezio, he made for a formidable foe.

As well as being considered one of the most controversial popes in history, his game counterpart had a massive god complex, believing himself to be a prophet. In fact, his entire campaign to acquire the papacy was purely to gain access to a vault under the Vatican he believed contained God.

A vindictive, cruel, and totally ruthless individual, Rodrigo is the Assassin's Creed villain we loved to hate. Not only was it immensely satisfying to finally catch him, he also had arguably the most engaging boss encounter in the series. Ezio would soon regret letting him live, however.

And if all that wasn't bad enough, he's also the reason we spent so long collecting those feathers.
