Assassin's Creed: Every Major Villain RANKED

Betrayal is commonplace within the Assassin's Creed series. Roberts, Cleopatra, and Aspasia are just some of the characters who turned on you at one point or another. None of them, however, were as effective as that of Al Mualim's from the first game.

The leader of the Masyaf Assassins, Al Mualim is the one who guides Altair on his road to redemption after his arrogance led Templar Knight Robert de Sable to assault the Assassins' stronghold.

Eliminating a list of targets given to you directly from Al Mualim himself, we believed we were doing the right thing by killing dangerous people. He even gave us new equipment as a reward for our had work, how could he possibly be one of the bad guys?

Towards the end of the game, however, the supposed Assassin mentor reveals his true colours. Using the recovered Apple Of Eden to control the minds of the other Assassins, he unveils that he shared the same goal as the Templars all along and you were being used the entire time to make his goal a reality.

Also giving us our first taste of the series' sci-fi elements, Al Mualim is undoubtedly the definitive and original Assassin's Creed villain.
