Assassin's Creed Odyssey - 10 Secrets & Locations You Must Find

4. Become King Arthur

Head up to the top of Lakonla mountain for this Easter Egg, and look for what could be misconstrued as a simple coding error. A sword is wedged halfway into a stone, and you are unable to remove it.

But, the out of place weapon is a hint at a legend, not from the Greek mythos, but from Arthurian. For those of you not in the know, Arthur pulled the sword Excalibur from the stone in order to fulfil a prophecy and become King of England.

Assuming that in the case of Assassin's Creed Odyssey your character would become King or Queen of Greece instead of England, that could have potentially catastrophic results for the story. It would be a lot easier to overthrow a cult, for instance, if you were the Queen.

This Easter Egg has been misinterpreted a few times on the internet, not least by people believing it to reference the firelink sword from Dark Souls (a bit tenuous) and the Master Sword in the Zelda games. The latter theory is more believable, considering the fact that the legend of the Master Sword was probably based on Arthurian legend in the first place if you think about it.
