Assassin's Creed: Odyssey - 9 Future Settings Ubisoft Must Use

3. Anglo-Nepalese War In The 1800s

Britain invading places is already the plot of several AC games - we fought against them in Assassin's Creed 3 and to a lesser extent in Black Flag. It'd be nothing new to play a character trying to stop them invading another place - except this war is barely known.

The Anglo-Nepalese War from 1814-16 occurred between the British East India Company and the Kingdom of Gorkha, the natives of Nepal. It was a time when technology was slowly becoming more warlike, at a similar time to Assassin's Creed 3 (in terms of weapons and technology).

A great feature would be the changes the region would provide. In Nepal the traditional gameplay of scaling buildings could be changed for scaling the many natural features of the Himalayas - climbing a mountain face to see the region, or hiding in caves to escape pursuit. This would give the games a much-needed shakeup.

As it's a rather unknown period of history, Ubisoft could also roll out their 'education' hats and bring us back to school. After all, we all learned more from Assassin's Creed games than from actual history lessons.

I'm based in the UK, looking to make a career out of writing about entertainment and culture. The only thing I like as much as watching films, playing games or listening to music is enjoying as much hummus and crisps as I can while I do so. My favourite film is Eddie the Eagle and I like any game that lets me wander around beautiful worlds (or eat hummus and crisps).
