Assassin's Creed: Odyssey - 9 Future Settings Ubisoft Must Use

2. Modern Day New York

There haven't been any games in the series that explore the perfect parkour playground - that of metropolitan skyscrapers.

The games are high-octane enough when we jump about on buildings that are two floors up - imagine being hundreds of metres up and chasing someone across rooftops and crashing through skyscraper windows, using technology like grappling hooks and wingsuits, and incorporating gun-play in a way that isn't hugely overpowered.

The meta-game of the series has taken place in the modern day, and a game set in a big city like New York where these events take place could be a really neat way of tying together all these loose strands that are flailing about from the games.

Some people argue that Watch Dogs takes place in the Assassin's Creed universe - putting elements of this in too could be a really great way to tie the two series together.

On the other hand, if they go here they've got no choice but to go back in time afterwards - and people are getting a little tired of all the jumping about in time. Ubisoft need to go forward, or backwards, not everywhere.

I'm based in the UK, looking to make a career out of writing about entertainment and culture. The only thing I like as much as watching films, playing games or listening to music is enjoying as much hummus and crisps as I can while I do so. My favourite film is Eddie the Eagle and I like any game that lets me wander around beautiful worlds (or eat hummus and crisps).
