Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate - 10 Crucial Things It Must Learn From Unity
4. A Reason To Use All Your Gadgets/Items
This is something that would tie into Ubi bringing back the guard classes seen in earlier instalments; whereby certain enemies would be impervious to certain attacks, forcing you to mix it up on the fly, Arkham-style. To be fair though, although it's maybe a bit too 'gamey' considering how perfected the realisations of any respective city in these games are, it forces the player into doing something other than just hammering one attack button or watching for counter prompts to strike back. Why not have guards that learn to deflect specific attacks in certain districts if they're repeatedly bested in the first place, or others that helmet-up because their friends have been taken out by too many wayward arrows? Considering the huge variety of weapons at your disposal, there's almost never any real impetus to use them - and as anyone who's tried one will know, stringing up a guard with a rope dart is something you need to see.
