Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate - 10 Crucial Things It Must Learn From Unity

3. Bring Back The Old Moves

Something you might've picked up on following AC III, was the complete lack of chain-kills or multi-counters - things that can make any player feel like a total badass within seconds. As mentioned earlier each yearly iteration on the series doesn't have the same team working on it, leading to - in Unity's case - removing things like being able to whistle towards guards being removed, the replacement being a finite number of gadgets instead. In addition to this, past editions have seen everything from being able to double/triple-counter your foes if they're attacking at the same time, the throwing of any two-handed weapon (perfect for de-throning horse-riding guards), disarm-killing that one last guard who thinks he has a chance - any plenty more. These were obviously taken out to try and put both you and Arno at a disadvantage, but instead Ubisoft need to embrace the superhero-style nature of their characters and design missions or consequences around that, as anything less always feels like a major backwards step.
