Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 8 Essential Superhero Games You Must Play

5. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

Speaking of Ultimate Alliance, if you're revisiting Raven Software's absolutely fantastic RPG series, you want the first one by a mile. For some reason M:UA 2 did away with a host of features from individual character grapples to special moves - even the general campaign length was shorter, with everything feeling a bit too much like glorified DLC. However, the first M:UA is still spectacular thanks to a roster that lets you put together anyone from The Avengers to the X-Men, Fantastic Four and everyone in between (like Daredevil, Blade and Moon Knight if you like) all with incredible moves, a gameplay style that mimics Diablo/Torchlight perfectly and specific team-up bonuses meaning any team you can think of will get boosts if you match them up. There's a very good reason M:UA is regarded as one of the greatest Marvel titles of all time, and you can feel the amount of effort put into crafting every part of it. From journeying through Asgard and meeting Loki to answering Marvel fan questions at random terminals, this ticks boxes for casual and hardcore fans all round.
