Look, I don't care what anyone says: bow and arrows are still some of the coolest weapons you can use in a game.
That's why playing as Hawk Eye in Avengers could actually be really fun! Here's hoping that developers Crystal Dynamics paid attention to the bow and arrow gameplay of Horizon: Zero Dawn, which is a masterclass in using that particular weapon.
Hawkeye is the first character in the Avenger's game to be confirmed by Square Enix as a post-launch character. He was showcased during promotional materials for the game on July 29th, where the developers also confirmed that this iteration of Hawk Eye is Clint Barton, the same man we see in the Marvel movies. No release date as of yet for Hawkeye, but it looks like he'll be one of the first to be released, considering he's the first to be revealed.
Hawkeye's appearance is much more like that of his comic counterpart rather than Jeremy Renner in the movies. We don't know lots about his combat capabilities yet, but judging from the first trailer, he's fast, agile, acrobatic and has access to specialist arrows including shock arrows.
