Batman Arkham: 10 Boss Fights That Blew Us Away

7. Firefly - Arkham Origins

Batman Arkham City Mr Freeze
Warner Bros

Batman's battle with Firefly atop the bridge is one of the most dramatic, intense, and cinematic scenes in the whole series. It's a very long sequence, drawn out across multiple encounters on the surface of the bridge.

Firefly terrorizes the Gotham citizens on the bridge, leaving destruction and carnage in his path. Batman is infuriated by this, even more than usual because this game takes place during the earlier years of his career when he was quicker to anger. The world is falling apart around him as he desperately tries to hold it together.

This sequence is very important for the narrative, as it is a key moment in the forging of the bond between Batman and James Gordon. GCPD hates Batman here, and they're just as present a threat in this part of the game as Firefly is.

While they don't leave this scene as friends, they do leave with a better understanding of each other and their eventual cooperation with each other couldn't happen without this happening first.

When Batman finally pulls Firefly out of the sky and takes him down, both him and the player breathe a sigh of relief.
