Batman: Arkham 2017 - 10 Perfect Ways To Continue The Franchise

6. Fill In The Gaps So Far

I know I can't be the only one who's curious about what took place in between Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, or between that sequel and Arkham Knight. Okay, we have the comics to fill in these sorts of blanks for us, but there's an awful lot more that could've happened in between these stories than these books actually show. Take Asylum and City for instance - there's an entire period within there that would show a minor state of normality in the Caped Crusader's life; Joker's been incarcerated for the millionth time, the Asylum is still functioning, and Batman's still doing his thing relatively unimpeded by nasty clown blood or cultist prophecies - it's the perfect timeframe to explore. We already saw a brief prequel to City take place right before the main events of the game, but nothing that focussed on the more, 'normal' days of Bruce's crimefighting endeavours. It would be a nice diversion from the more grandiose aspects each Arkham entry has defined itself by, and given the thematic and narrative flaws most prevalent in Arkham Knight, could provide the perfect remedy to alleviate oversaturation. In an era where gaming is getting increasingly cinematic by the day, a title simplistic yet subtle tale might just be the best way to innovate.
