Batman Arkham: Court Of Owls - 10 Villains That MUST Appear
3. The Phantasm
If a lesser known villain is going to take a spot from the likes of Penguin or Scarecrow in the finished game, they need to bring something different to the table. In The Phantasm, WB Montreal have access to a character who’s certainly capable and of that.
In costume, The Phantasm casts a menacing shadow, with an imposing silhouette and gruff voice. Outside of this though, her alter ego is Andrea Beaumont, Bruce Wayne’s ex-lover. The pair of them were born into wealth but had tragic childhoods, forced to grow up quickly after the deaths of their respective parents. The Phantasm is a Sliding Doors Batman to some extent; here’s how he might have ended up had a few things gone differently.
Interestingly, there are two postcards from Andrea in the Batcave in Arkham Origins, suggesting WB Montreal have had their eye on her for some time.
With the Court Of Owls comic storyline delving into the dark history of the Wayne family and forcing Bruce to revisit the death of his parents, it seems the perfect time to introduce her. Addressing how to pair of them fail to fully deal with the trauma of their loss makes for a fascinating parallel.
