Batman Arkham: Court Of Owls - 10 Villains That MUST Appear

4. The Ventriloquist

Batman Arkham Insurgency
DC Comics

Specifically the Arnold Wesker version of the character, although the Peyton Riley Ventriloquist would be a welcome part of Court Of Owls too. As his villainsous alter ego suggests, Wesker commits crimes as a ventriloquist, aided by a dummy carved from Blackgate’s gallows: Scarface.

At times though, it seems Scarface runs the show. Their dynamic is far beyond the stage ribbing between a dummy and the man pulling the strings. Scarface insults Arnold mercilessly, even hitting him, and Scarface is well and truly in control when mayhem is going down. Seeing Wesker, a man whose entire image is built around ventriloquism struggle to properly pronounce B in character is never not funny either, and gives him a very shambolic feel.

His successor, Peyton Riley, is an entirely different breed. Not only is she actually a passable ventriloquist, she’s much more violent and deranged too. It might not make sense to have two pretty circusesque women running around committing crimes completely unrelated to each other, so for Riley to get the nod she’d probably need some link to Harley in-game.

If either Ventriloquist does feature though, WB Montreal will have an incredibly unique character within their rogues gallery.
