RocksteadyExclusives tied to a particular console are no new thing. It has long been the norm to tie a portion of your content to a particular console in order to gain a timed exclusivity deal with a major player like Sony, and a fat wad of cash to help your game progress along the planned route you want it to take. When you spend half your working day playing Minecraft, game development can get expensive! It is no secret that Rocksteady Studios has come to such an agreement with Sony, keeping a portion of the main game - the Scarecrow Nightmare Pack - as an exclusive for PlayStation Four consumers. Obviously, it is extremely unlikely that the exclusivity will last forever, usually with a period of either six months or a year before the content comes to all parties ready for the inevitable game of the year edition. Although not much is known about the exact content Xbox One players will be missing out on, an advertisement over at Playstation.com read, "Gotham falls victim to Scarecrow's fear toxin, transforming the famous city into a twisted, hellish nightmare in the Batman: Arkham Knight Scarecrow Nightmare Pack. Tear through the city in the all-new batmobile and face off against a towering vision of Scarecrow and his undead army as they spread terror on the streets, available exclusively on PlayStation 4." Interestingly, the gameplay footage shown at Sony's E3 2014 Press Conference was rounded off with this quote from The Scarecrow, "How many bones will you crush? How many lives will you destroy in pursuit of what you call justice? You are the product of everything you fear - violence, darkness, helplessness. All that remains is for you to watch while I drag your beloved Gotham into oblivion." We cannot wait.
