6. What Is A Bat With Wheels? The Batmobile!

RocksteadyThe Batmobile. It would appear that Rocksteady Studios has been waiting a long time to give the Batmobile the attention it deserves, and the attention that they very clearly want to drown it in. Batman Arkham Knight is the game to do it in, especially as the Batmobile has been a core design point since the very inception of the game. Apparently, Batman Arkham Knight started life as a Batmobile game designed as a spin off to the traditional Arkham series, which grew and grew until it became its own title that we await with baited breath today. As such, the role of the Batmobile has been hugely expanded from previous games, now functioning exactly as we would want it to function. Not only does the latest iteration of the Batmobile come with an upgraded and redesigned Batsuit for Batman to wear, it also serves exactly as the Batmobile does in other Batman worlds. A simple tap of a shoulder button whilst looking at any flat surface will see Batman leaping towards the ground as the Batmobile screams around corners to catch him smoothly and safely in the armoured car. With a world over five times as large as Arkham City, that's a very good thing. Not to mention the fact that Batman can drive the car by remote control, using it as a second piece in puzzle sequences and as a distraction in combat. The system goes so far as to become part of combos when Batman punches an enemy close enough to the car - the auto turreted heavy cannon will pop out and take apart thugs automatically. Along with special abilities like missile swarms and the aforementioned heavy turret, the Batmobile can use a large grapple and the turret to open up new areas for Batman in puzzle sequences encountered around the world. Were that all not enough, the Batmobile can also become an omni-directional tank at the push of a single button. The batmobile has gone from mere transport to being a fully fledged character in Batman Arkham Knight.
