8. The New Suit Is Frank Miller Meets Nolan, Meets The Animated Series
One of the most interesting things about any new portrayal of the character is how a given team will treat the Batsuit. With Rocksteady, we saw a grey throwback to the traditional version of the character slowly give way to armour plating and eventually, an Iron Man-esque 'moving plate' design for Arkham Knight, whereas Telltale have taken that approach and modified it with some subtle Frank Miller touches.
Case in point: The ears, which help cast an imposing shadow. They're part of the visual iconography of both the logo and suit itself, so to shorten them so much immediately brings about comparisons to Miller's Dark Knight Returns costume, which was also used in Batman V Superman.
Symbolically, as the ears/horns can be used so effectively, I tend to view shorter ones as an artist showing Bruce has a lack of confidence in himself. Just look at Rocksteady, who opted for a really prominent 'spike' shape that gave their Batman an immediately threatening presence.
The fact we've got a Batman who has the armoured plating mixed with this streamlined, more manageable form factor is - for my money - indicative of the transitional phase Bruce is going through to become the Dark Knight.
