Before GTA V: 10 Forgotten Features That Were Deleted Pre-Release

6. Grenade Launcher

gtagrenade The Grenade Launcher was initially set to appear in GTA Vice City but was removed from the final game without any explanation, though possibly due to the fact that grenades worked in the same way and the launcher was thus deemed unnecessary. Its model (grenlanc.dff) and its textures (grenlanc.txd), still remain on the PS2 disc. These files were removed from all other ports of the game. GTA fans would have to wait another seven years before getting their hands on a grenade launcher in a GTA title - it later featured in GTA IV's ports Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and Damned but has yet to feature in one of the "main" Grand Theft Auto titles. We can only hope that will change with GTA V.
