Bloodborne: 10 Complaints Fans Are Already Sick Of Hearing
5. "It's Just Too Unforgiving"
It's supposed to be. Like what developer Dennaton did with Hotline Miami 2, here FromSoftware have created a sequel that starts exactly where the last one left off in terms of difficulty. If you're not acquainted with how the Souls games work in terms of picking and choosing your spots, memorising enemy tells and attack patterns and knowing when to withdraw and wait to attack again, this will eat you alive - simple as. Now there is something to be said about this being a new franchise - even though honestly, it's Dark Souls III and should be thought of as much. But, it's not like the comparisons with the Souls games aren't apparent right off the box - they've essentially been used to sell the thing in the first place. Sony knew by wrangling FromSoft into an exclusivity contract and working with them every step of the way they were delivering a title for hardcore players - and those that aren't afraid of really dedicating the requisite hours necessary to get through a particularly arduous area or three. The thing far too many people forget is this is in-part a puzzle game, and if the idea of being given a specific set of tools and using them to overcome specific obstacles doesn't sound appealing, maybe this isn't for you - but all the same don't write off something that's purpose built to be one of the most delicious acquired tastes around.
