Call Of Duty: 10 Wars Activision Will NEVER Feature

1. Ethiopian Civil WarEthiopia What Was It? After years of rule under the Emperor Haile Selassie, Ethiopia found itself with a new regime in 1974 when the Marxist Derg staged a successful coup after the Emperor was not able to abate the 1973 world oil crisis . The Derg placed the Emperor under house arrest and his son, the Crown Prince, fled to New York- leaving the Derg with one less royal alternative to deal with. Their brutal tactics in eliminating opposing factions, including torture and assassination however, soon united many varied political groups with differing factions into an opposing force. Mass famine during the 1980s left over a million dead and the inability of the Derg to address these issues helped to sway many to the opposition's banner. Eventually the war ceased with the overthrow of the Derg in 1991. Why Would COD Never Happen Here? Firstly, this is a war where no Western nations featured- let alone the US, which alone makes it unlikely that such a war could ever be portrayed in a COD game. Secondly much of the war is fought over famine stricken territory with huge amounts of casualties where, once again, civilians and military were often not discriminated.
