2. LRA Insurgency

LRA

What Is It? The LRA Insurgency is a continuing conflict in Uganda revolving around Joseph Kony's and his LRA's attempts to overthrow the legitimate Ugandan government and replace it with a theocracy with Kony at the head as the self-proclaimed 'messenger of God'. The first attacks by the Lord's Resistance Army happened in 1987 to demonstrate to the Ugandan populace that their government was no longer able to protect them against the threat. After this, the war escalated to other nations before a temporary truce was called in 2006. However in 2008, the war returned as more kidnapping of children occurred to fill the ranks of Kony's child militias. Why Would COD Never Happen Here? I can only think of one game that even alludes to the concept of child soldiers off the top of my head and that is Metal Gear Solid 2. There is little doubt that the idea of participating on either side of the fighting is fraught with danger. Are you part of the LRA- a monstrous group who abducts children and brainwashes them for their armies or are you part of the Ugandan Defence Force who often have to fight said children on the field of battle- if such an unethical environment can be called that.
