Although a lot of eyes went directly to the vague World at War hint in the Gamestop leak, it should also be noted that all of the promotional items for Black Ops 4 have a release date of 1 May 2018. This isn't just a random placeholder either, but seems to point towards the day that Black Ops 4 will officially be announced.

The timeframe fits with when Call of Duty games have been unveiled in the past, as WW2 and Black Ops 3 were announced at the end of April, while Advanced Warfare and Ghosts were both revealed in the first week of May.

New games are always announced around this time, and it would make sense for Activision to opt for the later date considering that Sledgehammer's game is still going strong.
