The Swordfish is a rare breed in that it is one of only a few four-round burst weapons available in the Call of Duty series. Though each individual bullet is relatively unimpactful, the weapons rapid fire make it easy to squeeze off eight to twelve shots in less than a second. Effective at close range and downright deadly at a medium distance, the Swordfish is a relatively formidable primary weapon.

Some will inevitably be turned away by the trappings of a burst fire rifle, but this gun feels somewhat reminiscent of the all-powerful M16 assault rifle from the original Modern Warfare. It isn’t quite that good, but Swordfish users find their names on the positive side of the killfeed more often than not.

This will come down to a matter of preference, but, once some of the more utilitarian attachments are unlocked, the Swordfish can be a devastating piece of weaponry. It won’t appeal to everyone, but those sick of using assault rifles day-in and day-out may want to give this one a try.
