7. The VAPR Rules, Shotguns Drool

Once you've slogged your way through the first few rounds of any of the Zombies maps, you'll want to ditch the more basic and slower-firing weapons such as pistols and shotguns, because they do a frankly terrible job of contending with the sheer volume of corpses the game quickly throws at you.

There are a number of great assault rifles and machine-guns you should aim to get your hands on as soon as possible, and in this player's experience, none possesses a greater sense of balance than the VAPR-XKG.

In addition to its awesome rate-of-fire and surprising lack of recoil, the VAPR has an impressive range and is about as great an all-rounder weapon as the game offers. Get on it.
