Call Of Duty: WWII - 5 Ways It Will Blow Battlefield Out The Water
4. A More Cohesive Solo Campaign
Battlefield 1 cannot be faulted for its ambition, attempting to tell a story that explores the length and breadth of World War I with its solo campaign.
From rumbling tanks on the ground to dogfights in the air, the game spanned an entire world at war, and while it had scope, the effects were crippling to the narrative.
Jumping between war theatres gave the story a disjointed feel, but Call of Duty: WWII promises to tell a more cohesive tale of camaraderie with a sharper focus.
The game hones in on a 12-strong squad in the final year of the war and, for the most part, focuses on two characters, which should make for a more intimate story.
CoD has always been king on the campaign front, and that's unlikely to change.
