Casting The Perfect Red Dead Redemption Film

2. Michael Mando As Javier Escuela

Ian McShane Red Dead Redemption
Ubisoft

Michael Mando has come a long way from starring as Vaas Montenegro, the main antagonist in Far Cry 3. He has since gone on to star as Mac Margan, a.k.a Scorpion, in Spider-Man Homecoming and as Nacho Varga in Better Call Saul. All of these performances and others highlight Mando’s ability to play a character that should be feared for their lethal intentions and intimidating demeanour.

Which is why it should be a foregone conclusion that he would do an exceptional job playing the role of Javier Escuella.

Javier was forced to flee to America after he became a wanted man for the murder of a former military leader and for spreading revolutionary ideas. This was how he came to meet Dutch and became a member of his gang, who he came to see as his true family and home. When the gang broke up and Javier returned to Mexico, he ironically became the private hitman of Colonel Allende and was under the protection of the Mexican Army.

Javier is as loyal and passionate as he is deadly and resourceful. Characteristics that Mando would have no problem showing off in his performance of Javier.
