The long-anticipated return of the orange marsupial, Crash Bandicoot himself, is nearly upon us, and with the release of the N. Sane Trilogy this summer, Vicarious Visions get a chance to reintroduce the world to a long forgotten platforming legend.

Crash's adventures have always been some of the most creative and fun in the genre, and they even manage to hold up today. It's the love that Naughty Dog has poured into the franchise that made him a timeless classic, and has caused fans to clamour for his return.

Besides the groundbreaking 3D graphics, lively soundtrack and charming characters, the star of Crash Bandicoot is often the level design itself. Almost every level from the original trilogy is a classic in its own right, but some of them stand out more than the rest.

Whether it be due to their sheer fun, beauty, nostalgia or difficulty, these are the ten most iconic Crash Bandicoot levels that we can't wait to see remastered in glorious HD for the N. Sane Trilogy.

10. Hog Wild

Taken from the original Crash Bandicoot, Hog Wild features one of the things Crash is most known for: riding on an animal's back. Hog Wild is one of the best levels in Crash Bandicoot for both developing the gameplay of Crash and making the character feel like a playable cartoon character. His vivid expressions as he jumps aboard the warthog and the way the two bounce their way through the level, is sure to be a particularly loveable highlight on PS4.

Most importantly, the remaster allows Vicarious Visions to tighten up the somewhat loose controls for the hog ride, hopefully making it truly enjoyable to play - as lord knows, we've all been knocked out by those fiendish villagers more times than we can count.
