Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
14. Ripper Roo
As you might expect, Ripper Roo is an absolute blast to play as. Given the game lacks any real story (Oxide wants to turn the world into an intergalactic car park), personality mainly comes from body language.
A blue kangaroo with a dog’s face and wearing a straitjacket, Ripper Roo is bursting with personality from the off.
He’s the first boss you unlock through the traditional means, and he’s certainly a worthwhile reward.
Putting him in the handling category is a bit off though, considering he’s so off the rails. Had he been given a more viable category, he could have scored much higher. Obviously this is accurate to his original categorisation, but it still hurts his cause.
There’s also not that much to actually unlocking him, as he’s the first adventure mode roadblock, so he doesn’t feel especially earned. Though not as openly irritating as some (cough cough Pinstripe), it's easy to see that some people could be rubbed the wrong way by him.
Even for a franchise as wacky as Crash Bandicoot, he’s the most nonsensical character by a distance, and some might give him a wide berth. With the amazing Gentleman Roo skin though, they’re missing a treat.
