Days Gone: 10 Gameplay Details You Need To Know
4. The Broken Road
"The Broken Road" is the term used by the developers to describe all the travel-able routes throughout the game. Deacon primarily uses his motorcycle to travel to and from missions, and to journey from encampment to encampment while exploring the map.
Also acting as your inventory storage, Deacon’s gas-guzzling (yes, it uses gas and needs to be refuelled) motorcycle is a large part of his survival in the apocalypse. And like any good apocalyptic companion it needs some love and attention now and again. The motorcycle can - and will - take damage so it’s imperative to take care on the roads and tend to repairs as needed.
The broken road is littered with obstacles and abandoned vehicles, vehicles that can be scavenged - but apparently not driven. It's unknown why Deacon prefers the open air of his bike as opposed to the safety of an enclosed vehicle, other than the obvious 'cool' factor two wheels provides. The limitation on vehicle choice hopefully isn't a precursor to other limitations within the game.
