10. Mario & Princess "Beach"

There's a ton of ridiculous dialogue in this game, though nothing makes the toes curl and the sphincter clench quite as much as what's spoken once Sam realises that Amelie used herself as a pawn to convince him to link up the chiral network.

Sam says, "So I'm Mario and you're Princess Peach?", and when Amelie suggests they run home together across the Beach, she adds, "Like Mario and Princess 'Beach.'"

It doesn't help that this deeply embarrassing moment is followed by an hilariously awkward slow-motion sequence as the pair run across the Beach. It's Kojima's hokey melodrama at its most misguided, but at least it's perversely entertaining.
