Death Stranding: 6 Reasons It Could Be FANTASTIC (And 5 It Could Be A Disaster)

2. Over Abundance Of Quirky Activities

As mentioned prior, Hideo Kojima's sense of humour is one of the defining aspects of his games. From the chicken hat in Phantom Pain to the cardboard box gag that's became a staple of the series, the man's bizarre sense of humour has often made for some of the Metal Gear Solid franchise's best highlights.

However, seeing so much of his humour seep into genuine side-mechanics makes you consider how much of the game is taken up by his funny gags. He's spent a considerable amount of time in his last two gameplay videos drawing attention to the quirky side content that features throughout the game. Sam's room, for example, seems to be something Kojima felt was so crucial that he showed twenty-five minutes of it in his second lengthy gameplay reveal.

Although this could just be a side distraction, there's a fear that similar activities will take up too much of your time when playing the game. As funny as these elements were in Metal Gear, they always found a sweet spot existing as small side gags to buffer the serious action of the campaign, so here's to hoping Death Stranding does the same.
