7. Manage Your Equipment Load

Where item load determines how much you can carry, equipment load has more to do with how quickly you can move while carrying your selected weapons and armor. Keeping your equipment load under 50% is necessary for any dexterity build, as this allows your character to roll normally and avoid enemy attacks. An equipment load over 50%, however, will initiate what is referred to as a 'fat roll'. This roll is a lot slower than the normal version, leaving you far more vulnerable to attacks. And then finally, anything over and above 100% will make you unable to roll at all, which is definitely less than ideal.

To help manage your equipment load, keep your eyes open for the Ring of Great Strength, as this will increase your equipment load capacity by around 50%. While most players first encounter this ring when dropped by Biorr of the Twin Fangs, fearless adventurers can actually steal it early on from beneath the Dragon's Roost in the Boletarian Palace. Is it worth being burned for? That's completely up to you.
