So cross-saves between PC and consoles are already, indisputably, off the table, but what about one-time character transfers?

We all should be happy that Bungie and Activision are finally opening up Destiny's alluring universe to a brand new audience, but for those that have been fighting Fallen pirates and slaying Hive monstrosities for the last three years, shouldn't we get the option to continue the fight on PC with a Guardian we've become so attached to?

Bungie has so far kept schtum on the topic, so it's impossible to tell whether the radio silence stems from a reluctance to break the potentially bad news or because a final decision has yet to be reached. Either way, we're going to need an answer fairly soon, as those planning to make the migration will want to know if it's worth the jump ahead of time rather than find out the truth on release day.

Considering that none of the gear Guardians have accrued over the years is carrying over to Destiny 2, there seems little reason, at least to me, for Bungie not to offer such a service.
