Destiny 2: 9 Big Questions Bungie Must Answer At E3 2017
4. Platform-Exclusive Content
By now, near everyone has accepted that platform exclusive content is a necessary evil to be tolerated rather than celebrated, but if it's here to stay, a little more transparency on the publisher's part - and in this case, Activision specifically - wouldn't go amiss.
Each and every major expansion for Destiny brought with it a slew of platform exclusive content as part of a handshake between Activision and Sony, but unlike the usual fluff included in these sorts of things, Guardians on PS4 got access to exclusive weapons, Strikes and story missions.
Most of that content eventually made the jump over to Xbox, but not all of it. Various bits and pieces still remain exclusive to Sony's platform, and it'll likely remain that way until later this year, which begs the question of, 'what's the point?' By then, everyone will be too enamored with the sequel to even take notice.
Sooner rather than later, Activision and Bungie need to make crystal clear just how exactly it plans to handle the deal, and not renege on the original plans laid forth from day one.
