2. Rev The Chainsaw

A tiny thing, but once you get your hands on the chainsaw it's very easy to forget to use it, simply because your bulky arsenal of death-bringing weapons is far more alluring.

Don't skimp out on it though, as not only does slicing through opponents grant you ammunition, but you can also pay a tiny tribute to Gears of War by revving the chainsaw in front of your opponents.

Hit L2/LT to do it, and although I've not found any gameplay benefit just yet, being DOOM is all about heavy metal escapist fun, I defy you to find a more suitably epic image than a space marine revving a rusty chainsaw in a room packed full of demons.
