Rockstar struck gold when it took over and rebooted a relatively obscure western game series and turned it into one of the best games of last generation. Watching John Marston's quest for revenge that spanned the largest and most immersive western landscape ever realised in a video game was truly remarkable. Even if you weren't a fan of the setting, Rockstar was able to create a relatable tale for anyone to enjoy, and more than anything they proved the game was much more than just Grand Theft Horse. It's been several years since RDR released and there is still no news of a sequel. The game did very well commercially and incredibly well critically, making it seem like an obvious choice. While the narrative leaves little room for continuing with known characters, the concept, gameplay, themes, and setting are ripe for future exploration. Rockstar has proven time and again, that it can consistently deliver high-quality experiences that iterate on themselves without growing stale. Alas, instead of announcing this game, they instead chose to focus on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC releases of Grand Theft Auto V.
