E3 2013: Microsoft's 13 Exclusive Xbox One Games Revealed & Analysed

3. Below

Below At first it looked like a 2D, dark version of Journey. Then it looked like a dark, more visually stimulating version of Thomas Was Alone. Then... well, then it stopped looking like anything. What the gameplay entails is largely unknown, but at a guess it involves a lot of walking around, solving puzzles, and hitting small, unavoidable enemies. By all means and practises it looks like Microsoft only showed it so they could have a token art game included in their conference, brining it out for less than a minute while their gameplay footage of Battlefield 4 lasted well over five. Despite this, the game could still be enjoyable, though it€™s hard to say when we€™ve seen so very little of it. Sony has made a big push for titles like this on the PS4, meaning the showing of Below was unlikely to have persuaded any gamer who wasn€™t already inclined to so so to buy the Xbox One over Sony€™s new baby, which is maybe why Microsoft chose to show mere seconds of footage. Or perhaps they didn€™t want to put potential buyers off by showing them how lacking in quality the game actually is. Again, at this stage, it€™s impossible to say.
