Although she's about to dust off her fighting blaster for another brawl in the Wii U's/3DS' new Super Smash Bros, poor Samus hasn't had her own game since the utterly disastrous Metroid: Other M was released and critically panned by everyone. Last year, at E3 2013, many expected developers Retro Studios to announce they were working on a new Metroid game for Wii U. Instead they revealed Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze, leading to many scratching their heads in a good impersonation of the Kong himself. At this point, the Wii U needs its core franchises to get new games. Metroid Prime 3, released for the Wii, was a truly fantastic first-person shooter experience that used the Wii remote's motion capabilities in interesting ways. A new Metroid Prime for Wii U that takes advantage of the unique capabilities of the GamePad and is shown alongside a new Zelda will get excitement going once again for Nintendo's flagging platform. It's time you came back into our lives Samus. We've missed you.
