If there's a bone to be picked with the Xbox One and PS4, it's that they don't play earlier generation games. For those of us who amassed a massive pile of the things over the long cycle of the last generation, it's a bit annoying that they don't. Thankfully - for PS4 anyway - there's a solution on the way. It doesn't let you play your old games by popping the disk in, but Playstation Now, powered by the cloud servers of Gaikai, will let players rent and experience older games on the new platform. The new service has been in private beta for some time now and a summer 2014 release was targeted. What better way to get an instant buzz for this service and give PS4 players something to do until the slew of games no doubt due this holiday season comes along? It's slim pickings at the moment on the PS4 front, but launching this service will get the Playstation community active. The best way to do this? Talk about it, price some stuff and then launch it the very same day. Instant buzz.
