E3 2016: 6 Ups & 4 Downs From Bethesda's Conference
6. Prey Is Being Rebooted
One of the show's most exciting and unexpected reveals was an apparently new IP, where a man wakes up and goes through the same daily ritual, Groundhog Day-style, while an infection or disease in his right eye appears to worsen each day.
Cut to all hell breaking loose at the man's workplace, as shadowy tentacle creatures attack, before a space setting is shown, and it's revealed that the game is in fact a reboot of Prey, due for release next year.
Don't feel bad if you never played the 2006 original, but its world-building and characters are what made it a cult hit with fans, who have been demanding a follow-up ever since.
Though this reimagining looks distinctly different, it's visually gorgeous and extremely promising all the same.
